Detail itinerary:
Day 01: Arrival to Kathmandu [1,330 m]: Upon your arrival, a representative from Adventure Treks Nepal will be waiting outside the airport gates to take you to the hotel. Depending on time of arrival, plans will be made for a briefing meeting once you have settled in. Please let us know if there is anything special you would like to do while in Kathmandu and we can help you arrange that.
Day 02: Fly to Phaplu [2,600 m] - (B,L,D): The sights from the plane are amazing, providing dramatic views of terraced hills and the distant Himalayan giants. After landing in the village of Phaplu, we meet the rest of our staff and porters. The Phaplu is small airstrip in Solukhumbu. You then trek over a gentle ascending path all the way to Takshindo Gompa.
Day 03: Trek to Ringmo [2,800 m] - (B,L,D): The Trekking trail follows Chiwang and Phera through a pine tree and rhododendron forest alive with birds. It’s an easy descent through pines to a large suspension bridge over the Dudh Khola at 2510m. From the river the trail snakes up through meadows to Ringmo; a Sherpa village dotted with apple, peach and apricot orchards. Today have some leisurely stroll in the village and spend your night. Average trekking time is 4 to 5 hours.
Day 04: Trek to Kharikhola [2,010 m] - (B,L,D): Above Ringmo, the trail climbs steeply through pine and rhododendron forest to a long mani wall of Pangoma; a remote lake set at 4500m beneath the wall. The trail crosses a picturesque stream on a suspension bridge and then dissolves into a clutter of loose rocks as it reaches Nunthala. From here the descent continues Dudh Koshi (Milk River), the largest river on the trek. The trail turn through fields of barley, wheat and maize to the sprawling Rai village of Jubing(1680m). Terraced fields and forest path took us a slow climb around a ridge to the village of Khari Khola. Average trekking time is 7 to 8 hours.
Day 05: Trek to Puiyan [2,770 m] - (B,L,D): The Kharikhola is crossed by a drooping suspension bridge at 1930m. The path makes a steep climb to Bupsa (2360m), set among cascading wheat and maize terraces below a dense oak forest. The path ascends through Sherpa villages and a forest inhabited by monkeys, and then winds steeply up and down through the Dudh Koshi canyon to Puiyan. Spend your night in any of the lodge. Average trekking time is 6 to 7 hours.
Day 06: Trek to Phakding [2,652 m] - (B,L,D): The trail climbs for about an hour after Puiyan to a ridge at 2800m. Then up to another ridge. Passing through Lukla Airport follow a gentle climb up the mountainside on the left bank of the Dudh Koshi River. Along the way you will have a view of Mt Nupla (5885m), Kusum Kangaru (6367m) and the Mount Kwongde Range. We then take an easy walk for about two hours to Phakding village for the overnight stop and rest of the time stroll around the village for local knowledge. Average trekking time is 6 to 7 hours.
Day 07: Trek to Namche Bazaar [3,440 m] - (B/L/D): After breakfast we continue to trek entering into the dense Rhododendron and Pine forests while we cross the thundering Dudh Koshi River again. We are now inside the Sagarmatha National Park properly. While we trek to Namchhe Bazzar you will see many yaks transporting the goods to be traded along the trail. Spectacular Mountain peaks like Nupla (5,885m), Kongde Ri (6,093 m) and Thamserku (6,808m) rise majestically above us throughout most of the day. Average trekking time is 5 to 6 hours.
Day 08: Acclimatization day at Namche [3,440 m], day hike to Shyangboche [3,833 m] - (B/L/D): This is a rest day in Namche Bazzar for acclimatization. Due to the thinning air it is important to spend an extra day in Namchhe Bazzar to become familiar with the climatic condition. During the day you can hike up to the Everest View Hotel in Shyangboche for mesmerizing views of Ama Dablam and Mount Everest.. Average trekking time is 3-4 hours.
Day 09: Trek to Thyangboche [3,780 m] - (B/L/D): From Namchhe Bazzar we head towards Thyangboche early in the morning. On our way ahead, we trek around the ridge that offers spectacular mountain views of Ama Dablam. We descend through the Rhododendron forests for Lunch. After lunch we again cross the Dudh Koshi River to continue on the trail and begin a long uphill climb upto the Tengbochhe Monastry which was initially constructed in 1912 and was recently re-built with assistance from Sir Edmund Hillary after it was destroyed by fire in 1989. There is high chance of encountering with some wild animals like musk deer, mountain goat and Pheasants while trekking inside the forest. . Average trekking time is 3 to 4 hours.
Day 10: Trek to Dingboche [4,365 m] - (B/L/D): After your breakfast we begin our trek with a uphill climb to the Imja Khola before we reach the beautiful Sherpa settlement in Pangboche (3,901m). You will meet many sherpas who have successfully conquered the Everest in this village. We may take a slight detour to visit an old monastery where Lama Geishi gives his blessings to those attempting to stand on Sagarmatha’s highest point. After the visit to the monastery we continue trekking to Dingboche for overnight stay. Average trekking time is 4 to 5 hours.
Day 11: Acclimatization day, day hike to Chhukung and back to Dingboche [4,365 m] - (B/L/D): This is another free day in Dingboche for acclimatization before we go above the tree line. We will hike upto Chhukung village for a short tour and return back to Dingboche. You can spend the rest of the day relaxing and observing the magnificent Everest Region. Average trekking time is 4-5 hours.
Day 12: Trek to Lobuche [4,955 m] - (B/L/D): After breakfast we will continue our Everest Base Camp journey to Gorakshep. On our way we will be walking on dry sloppy landscape above the tree line from where we will witness the peaks such as Cholatse, Lobuche and Pumori. Many Rock Cairns can be seen at Dugla Ridge dedicated to the departed souls of climbers who died attempting the Everest. We now follow Khumbu Glacier and reach Lobuche for overnight stay. We will feel the drop in temperature over here as we become more elevated and exposed to the upper slopes of the valley. Average trekking time is 4 to 5 hours.
Day 13: Trek to Gorak Shep [5,395 m] - (B/L/D): From Lobuche we trek above the rocky moraine of the Khumbu glacier and head in the direction of Gorak Shep. After our lunch at Gorakshep we head to the main destination of our trek, the notorious Everest Base Camp (5,340m). After spending some time in Everest Base Camp observing the beauty of the nature we then descend back to Gorak Shep for overnight stay. This picturesque village is surrounded by beautiful mountains including Pumori (7,145m), Lingtren (6,697m), Nuptse (7,745m) and of course Everest (8,850m). Average trekking time is 7 to 8 hours.
Day 14: Trek Kalapattar, Trek to Pheriche [4,2520 m] - (B/L/D): On this day we will be heading to Kala Pattar (5,545m), famous view point for Everest and other mountains and peaks of Everest Region. It will take 2 to 3 hours to reach up to Kala Pattar which treats you with world's best Mountain View once you reach at the top of the hill.After spending some time here we then descend to Pheriche for overnight stay. Average trekking time is 8 hours.
Day 15: Trek to Namche Bazzar [3,440 m] - (B/L/D): After your breakfast we will gradually descend back to Namchhe Bazzar via Tsuro, Orsho, Shomare and Pangboche. On our way back we will visit the famous Pangboche Monastery, the oldest in this region. We can also stop at the village to admire the view of Ama Dablam. Average trekking time is 7 to 8 hours.
Day 16: Trek to Lukla [2,652 m] - (B/L/D): We retrace our steps along the river Dudh Koshi. It is a beautiful and easy walk through pine and rhododendron forest with a view of Kusum Kanguru and other splendid mountains behind us before a gradual climb out of the river valley to the trek starting point Lukla to savor our final mountain sunset of the trek as we complete this exhilarating journey. Average trekking time is 6-7 hours.
Day 17: Fly Back to Kathmandu [1,330 m] - (B): Early morning we once again board our flight through the Himalayan mountain range back to Kathmandu. On arrival, we are transferred to our hotel. The remainder of the day is free. This day also acts as a buffer day in case our flight to or from Lukla is cancelled for weather reasons.
Day 18: Free day in Kathmandu [1,330 m] - (B) (Free day): There are plenty of interesting sites to visit in the Kathmandu valley like the Old Palaces at Patan, Bhaktapur, Durbar square, Swayambhunath (the monkey temple or you may wonder down town Thamel to shop for souvenirs and sample the various restaurants of Kathmandu. We are happy to offer you some recommendations.
Day 19: Fly back home - (B): We will transfer you to the airport and assist with check-in procedures.
