Comments: After consulting the lonely planet on reliable trekking agencies, we contacted Adventure Treks Nepal. Beforehand we had read that in off-season there were limited options for trekking, but a meeting at the office made clear that this was not the case. So instead of doing a short trek of 8 days in helambu, we ended up trekking a total of 26 days! The first 15 days were out of Pokhara. We flew to Jomsom and trekked to Mutkinath, from there to Ghorepani for Poon Hill and afterwards hooking up with the Annapurna Base Camp Trek. The guidebook says the Jomsom region is less attractive because of the roads that already give access to the area, but in off-season you really are alone on the trail. And the views are so amazing that we can recommend it to everyone! Poon Hill was the best sunrise spot we have ever been to and the Annapurna Base Camp provided the icing on the cake. We had snow on the 2 last days, and even though this made the trek harder, it also made it even more spectacular. With every concern about our safety, we were guided to the base camp and had the most inspiring views of the surrounding mountains.

And if we thought this would be the highlight of our trip, we were left astonished by the following trek to the Everest Region. We flew into Lukla and did a 11-day trek up to Gorakshep, where we climbed Kalapattar (5600m) for an amazing view of the Everest and made it to EBC on the same day! With the carefull assistance of our guide and porter for acclimatizing, we had no big problems with the altitude and had the experience of a lifetime!

Nepal was the 6th destination of our trip, and it was by far the most inspiring. So we feel more than comfortable in recommending Adventure Treks Nepal to everyone who wants the trek of a lifetime.

Special thanks to Gyanendra for being the reliable guide he is, and to Debraj and Djit for carrying our heavy burdens to their destinations with a smile. We would not have made it without your motivation and mountain knowledge.

Comments: We would just like to say a big thank you to Gyan, Mr Khim (our guide) and Jit (our porter) for making our Himalayan Adventure unforgettable. We only had a 2 week holiday but Mr Khim and Jit really did ensure that our we enjoyed our trip to the max. We felt they listened to our wishes and custom made our trip accordingly. Mr Khim was very well informed and we learnt so much about the local culture and geography. We had utmost confidence in them both allowing us to concentrate solely on Gods creation and having a good time. They were both very attentive when the unavoidable "delly belly" kicked in.

We will never forget our nights in Thare, Khunde and Toktok, really allowing us to have a taste of the real Nepal. We felt we developed a special relationship with these guys and knew that we were very lucky that the magnitude of this trip was possible in just 2 weeks. We would highly recommend using this company. For us it felt like a risk booking a holiday when all contact had been through email. However Gyan's very responsive nature to emails gave us confidence and the price he offered was very competitive. From the moment we were met at the airport to the moment we left the hotel at the end we felt that we were looked after as had been pre arranged and the whole experience was as agreed prior to payment.

Being a group of 7 on a two-week-trip to Nepal and Tibet, we enjoyed the expertise of Adventure Treks Nepal. Due to the volcanic eruption in Iceland in April 2010 we had to wait for a suitable flight back to Scandinavia. In the meantime we had the opportunity of going on a 5-day, spontaneous trip to Pokhara, where we visited an English boarding school, unforgettable memories. During our stay in the Himalayas we experienced the fascinating indescribable nature as well as the major sights of the world heritage e.g. the Durbar Squares of Kathmandu and Bhaktapur and the marvellous Bodhnath. The inspiring thought that remains is that we have been on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Travelling in the secure company of Gyan Karki and his team made us feel enriched to say the least and now... we just want to go back to Nepal and Tibet ! Remember Lhatse ! THANK YOU !

Comments: wir haben nun bereits 3 Reisen unter deiner Organisation unternommen: Gokyo Trek, Annapurna Runde und nun eine Reise durch Sikkim mit 8-taegigem Trekking im Gebiet des Kangchendzonga. Jede der Reisen war für uns ein Erlebnis und die Organisation hat immer perfekt geklappt. Da wir immer allein mit deinen Guides, Koechen, Traegern, Horsemen, etc. unterwegs waren war es uns moeglich einzigartige Erlebnisse und Begegnungen in einem

fast "familiaeren" Charakter zu erleben. Sie waren gepraegt von gegenseitiger Wertschaetzung und daher fuer uns eine Bereicherung in Bezug auf Verstaendnis anderer Kulturkreise.
Die Reise durch das gruene Sikkim mit seinen tiefen Schluchten, hohen Bergen, den Doerfern hoch oben an den Berghaengen und freundlichen Leuten hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Besonders auch das Trekking durch eine abwechslungsreiche Landschaft, die Rhododendrenbluete, die sensationellen Ausblicke auf die Himalayakette und speziell auf den Kangchendzonga vom Goecha La aus. Herzlichen Dank nochmals an das komplette Team für die vielen netten Aufmerksamkeiten und die Bemuehungen.

A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!

We have just arrived back in Australia after an adventure of a lifetime.

After contacting several of the Lonely Planet recommended local trekking agency's, 'Adventure Treks Nepal' was the first to respond, and remained easy and efficient to deal with throughout the many emails required to organise our trek especially to suit our family.

Our itinerary included all transfers, a 3-day tour of Kathmandu and the Valley, an overnight in Nagarkot, then on to Pokhara before setting off on a 9-day trek to the Annapurna Sanctuary.

Gyan Karki, the manager of the company was tremendous, his attention to detail was without fault, everything was as promised and superbly arranged and well executed. Our Guide Gyanendra was amazing; he was with us for both the tour and our trek. He spoke excellent English and became a friend to my family. My wife and three teenage boys loved him.

He was very professional & experienced, his knowledge of the history and manner of life in Nepal was exceptional, as well as very interesting.

During the trek he planned our day to suit us as a family unit, he booked teahouses in advance that were always the pick of the bunch for both food and accommodation. He told us the best and safest meals to choose and was very switched on with our acclimatisation, so that all 5 of us completed the trek with no sickness what so ever.

Our well-being and satisfaction was always Gyanendra's number one priority. We will without hesitation be recommending 'Adventure Treks Nepal' to our friends and family and anyone who intends to visit Nepal.

We are planning to do the Everest Base Camp trek in 2-3 Years time, and are certain we have found a great local operator to look after us again

Comments:A very memorable and rewarding trip. Great views, beautiful hike. The guide was very patient and took lots of pictures for us. Travel arrangement and lodges were in general good and within expectation. Only thing that needs improvement was the last night of lodge in the mountains: since the hotel was over booked, we had to stay at a lesser lodge next door. Gyan was very friendly and attentive. All in all we had a good time and would recommend Adventure Treks Nepal!

The Egan family would have paid more for nicer accommodations although we realize there aren't a ton of choices. Especially upon returning when all you want is a long hot shower in a clean hotel!

Otherwise, our memories are fabulous and it is because you created a wonderful and safe tour for our family.

Comments: If you are thinking of traveling to Nepal, then you need look no further than Adventure Treks Nepal to take care of your trip.

We found Adventure Treks Nepal via an internet search and was immediately impressed by how carefully he responded to emails quickly and with detailed information. Gyan gave us contact details for his previous clients and I followed up on these, all spoke glowingly of Adventure Treks Nepal and now we wouldn't hesitate to do the same.

We exchanged emails over a period of few months or so before the trip, during which time Gyan answered all our many questions and suggested a variety of itineraries to suit us. We eventually ended up with 5 day trek for of us.

Adventure Treks Nepal's quotation was much more competitive than the bigger western based companies, and I feel that we had far superior service, secured excellent rooms for us everywhere we stayed, knew exactly how to pace the trek for us, and clearly has the friendship and respect of many of the other guides, porters, lodge owners that we met en route.

So we have no hesitation to Recommand Adventure Treks Nepal for anyone.

Comments: My husband and I were planning a fall trip to include the countries of India, Nepal, Bhutan and Tibet. For past trips, we had always worked out our own itinerary but this time we had to have a tour company as required by Bhutan and Tibet. We were fortunate to receive a good reference regarding Adventure Treks Nepal from a very satisfied trekking client in Canada.

Being an older couple, we were not interested in serious trekking but wanted hiking mixed with cultural activities. With input from us, Gyan put together a 24 day package covering the 3 countries of Nepal, Bhutan and Tibet, including the sites we wished to visit, plus an overnight white water rafting experience (Rishikesh) in India. He also arranged all of the necessary travel documents, accommodation, guides and drivers. He provided room for flexibility and arranged changes once we were on the trip. We felt well taken care of and pleased with the choices and itinerary in each country.

Comments: "One of the toughest things about booking online is knowing whether what you see on the website is actually going to exist when you get there. Parting with your money can therefore be nerve-racking, but I can assure you that this company is a well-established one, run by excellent staff. My girlfriend and I went on a trek trek in the Everest region of Nepal and were pleasantly surprised to have new equipment, enough food to feed the five thousand, good-humoured porters who were not going to abandon us when the weather got nasty, and a guide who clearly knew the area with which he was dealing. Gyan, the boss in Kathmandu, is instrumental to this service and we found ourserves relying on his know-how even after our trek as he's readily available on email and Messenger! Comments: We just returned from three weeks of travel in Nepal and Bhutan. This was our first time traveling to either of these countries and after having limited success with our local adventure travel agent, we decided to see if we could find a tour/trekking company in Nepal to assist us with our travel plans.

We have relied on referrals and testimonials from fellow travellers in the past and have rarely been disappointed. So, after reading about the experiences of those who had used Adventure Treks Nepal (based in Kathmandu), we decided to make contact with them...and let's just say, from the very first 'prompt' email response from Mr. Gyan Karki, we knew we were on the right track.

Not only did they help us plan our travel and trekking within Nepal, but they also coordinated our travel plans with a Bhutanese tour operator to complete our trip. It was so easy. Emails were quickly returned, changes we requested to itineraries were made without question, and suggestions were offered to help make our trip more enjoyable.

They arranged everything...from the airport transfers, coordination of trekking permits, TIMS cards, domestic flights, hotels in Kathmandu, Pokhara, sight-seeing, and as mentioned above, they coordinated our travel plans onward to Bhutan.

Our guide for trekking and local sight-seeing in Nepal was Gyanendra. If you have the chance to use Adventure Treks Nepal...ask for him as your guide. He was fantastic - very personable, provided a wealth of information (cultural, historical, etc), gave a thorough briefing each evening to explain the next day's trekking in detail, and was always ready to share a laugh with us...and there was a lot of laughing along the way.

Ramesh was our porter, but in actual fact, he too is a guide with Adventure Treks Nepal and opted to go with us on this particular trek as a porter. We're glad he did. What a great team!

For reference, we trekked the Annapurna Sanctuary route to Annapurna Base Camp (incl Poon Hill) and if this is even a small taste of what trekking in Nepal is all about, I am sure we'll be back someday. Beautiful!
