Ci siamo affidati come guida a Bhuwan per un tour di due settimane che ci ha portato dalla valle di Katmandu, a Pokhara per un breve trekking con panorami mozzafiato e poi al parco Chitwan.

Bhuwan parla molto bene l'italiano e questo ci ha aiutato nel capire al meglio la cultura del Paese.

Adventure Treks Nepal gave us the adventure of a lifetime. We told the owner Mr Gyan Karki roughly what we wanted. He custom-designed our trip and arranged everything for my wife and me. Time in Kathmandu, an 8-day private trek, and some relaxation at the end. We felt we had the best wherever we went and Gyan's prices are lower than the UK discount sites!

We spent 3½ days in Kathmandu (although our first afternoon was spent sleeping after 18 hours of travel and 6 time zones of jet lag). We stayed at the Kathmandu guest house, and institution in the heart of Thamel. Its large central garden, full of fruit trees and flowers, is an oasis of tranquillity.

We had 2 days guided around the major sites by the super knowledgeable, Bhuwan. Kathmandu and the nearby cities of Bhaktapur and Patan are vibrant, colourful and steeped in history.

On day 5 we were driven to Pokhara, the starting point for the Annapurna region, and spent the night at the magical Fishtail Lodge (accessed across a lake via rope-pulled barge). Then a drive to Ghandruk (the last hour requiring serious off-road skills) to begin our 7-night tea house trek with our superb guide, Anuj, and porter, Purna. Medium difficulty (choose from easy to hard), climbing from 6,300 ft (1,920m) to Khopra Ridge 12,000 ft (3,660 m). Magnificent views of the Annapurna Himalaya all along the way. Our trek was a dream come true.

Anuj and Purna not only kept us safe, they were steadfast, supportive, patient, funny, always taking care of us and looking out for our best interests. They are the best team on the mountain.

Tips:

If you are trekking, don't do the Everest flight (which Gyan had not recommended but we asked for). It costs more than $500 for 2, we were exhausted by getting up at 4 a.m. & we had better and closer Himalaya views on our trek.

In Kathmandu, if you don't have boundless energy for sightseeing, or don't want to have breakfast at 7.30, have a prior discussion with Gyan about start and finish times that suit you. Also consider 3 shorter days rather than 2 packed days.

We drove to Pokhara to transition gradually from the noise and dust of the city to the countryside of the Katmandu Valley. But half of the 200km route is under long-term construction. Don't think motorways with coned off lanes, think mud and rock 4x4 off-roading. It took us 10 hrs. Consider the 25min flight. We've also heard the luxury sofa night bus is comfortable.

Tea houses vary and tend to be more basic the further you go from the busy routes. We found the food was always tasty and home cooked with fresh ingredients. There is usually some kind of hot shower but Travel Buddy large body wipes (30cm x 20cm) are a good back up. Be prepared for the facilities to be outdoors, the sink water to flow straight from the mountain and Western toilets to be sometimes not provided.

Gyan supplies an extensive kit list. You may not need all of the items depending on where and when you are trekking. So chat through it with him. Get clear on the potential lowest temperature and ensure your sleeping is specified accordingly.

At the altitude we were trekking, there was approximately 25-30% less oxygen and we needed to hydrate more than at sea level. Anuj recommended 2-3l per day. Hydration boosters helped a lot. DripDrop was our favourite.

Also trail mix to keep up energy levels and sweets for local children.

Comments: Enjoying the Manaslu Circuit+ Tsum valley.

In November 2023 I did the Manaslu Circuit +Tsum Valley with a friend with the advice and participation of Adventure Treks Nepal.

Gyan, as head of the agency, resolved all the questions I asked him during the preparation of the trip and suggested and advised me on some practical aspects and the route before taking it.

Jit, Prem and Pratdip, the guide and the porters that the agency provided us were excellent professionals, familiar with the terrain and attentive to our needs and efficiently resolved the small inconveniences that could arise during the development of the treks.

This is the second time I have organized a trek with Adventure Treks Nepal. In 2019, just before the pandemic, I did (with Jit as guide-porter) the Three Passes Trek and the experience was so successful that I have repeated with this agency.

There will surely be a third opportunity to hire their services because they deserve it.

Comments: "Manaslu Circuit and Langtang Valley Trek".

We booked the Manslu Circuit and the Langtang Valley Trek with Gosainkunda through Adventure Treks Nepal. We were on the trek for a total of 23 days and everything was already perfectly planned and organised. Nevertheless, we were still able to make changes to the schedule and the tour, which were always taken into account and implemented. We had a great guide, Ramesh, and porter, Ram.

We always felt well informed and looked after. We can only recommend Adventure Treks Nepal!

Comments: "Manaslu und Langtang/Gosaikunda".

Gyan hat uns direkt vom Flughafen abgeholt und war immer super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Unser Trekking konnten wir sehr individuell gestalten, wir haben uns für ein 11-tägiges Trekking um den Manaslu und direkt danach ein 9-tägiges Trekking im Langtang Valley und Gosaikunda entschieden. Unser Guide Ramesh und unser Porter Ram waren toll und es hat mit ihnen jeden Tag Spass gemacht. Ausserdem konnten wir unsere tägliche Wanderung auch spontan anpassen um mal weiter oder weniger weit zu laufen. Wir können diese Trekking Agentur wärmstens empfehlen.

Words cannot describe the beauty of the Himalayas it must be experienced. We were superbly guided by Gyanendra Karki and he was wonderfully supported by his assistant Dev. Our incredibly strong and supportive porters Bishnu, Bishal, and Dharma were amazing and we cannot thank them enough. The teams incredible knowledge of the mountains and Nepali history and culture enhanced our trek immensely, and the teams experience of high altitude trekking made me feel confident and safe in this environment. Outstanding, the Himalayas are very special and our group of 6 felt very safe and well cared for by Gyanendra and his team of Dev, Bishnu, Dharma and Bishal . I cannot recommended them highly enough.

Gyanendra was very responsive to emails when fine tuning our itinerary before we left.

Every tea house we stopped at for either lunch or overnight was fabulous, clean, function also with stunning views. He even booked the best rooms for us. Gyanendra has many years experience and we benefited from his planning. After a long day we had a shorter day. Every day was full of delights and wonder.

Gyanendra even managed to change the itinerary so that our last day was extra special with so many delights.

When not trekking Gyanendra was available if we needed him and let us do our thing when we wished. A fabulous trip that I would repeat in a heartbeat. If you are considering this trip, do it, highly recommended.

Our Annapurna Base Camp 10 day trek was amazing. The views, mountains, culture, rainforests, waterfalls, animals in the wild, streams, too much to list. Our group of 6 had an incredible support team of a guide Gyanendra, medic Dev & super strong, friendly porters Bishnu, Dharma & Bishal. We all had an adventure of a lifetime with so many happy memories. From the time we arrived in Kathmandu & departed Kathmandu we were totally looked after with not a thing to worry about. We were already on the road with Adventure Treks 12 years ago, back then to Annapurna Base Camp. Once again, we were warmly welcomed by Gyan Karki, the owner of Adventure Treks, at Kathmandu airport. This time we are on the Manaslu Circuit with our guide Sangam. Sangam was already our guide 12 years ago. This reflects how Adventure Treks looks after its staff! We are supported by our porter Purna. A brilliant team. As promised by Gyan, the trek and the subsequent safari will be a memory of a lifetime. I've just arrived home from trekking the Annapurna BC and the images and memories of this journey still remain in my head and heart.

Beeing face to face to Annapurna South Face it's been one of the best, awsome and wonderful experiences of my life. Every day of the trek had its own surprise and amazing landscapes. Don't miss it !

Well organised and guided, it's been a great pleasure to have met Gyan, Jit and our porters...they've made this dream come true.

Comments: "Gokyo Ri 2023"

We four did ten day trek to Gokyo Ri with two guides and two porters. Our trek was fun and we had a blast. From planning the trip to the time we returned home, Adventures Treks Nepal did a great job. Guides Ramesh and Dev were very knowledgeable and experienced. Porters Tej and Prashant were very cordial and polite - everyone always on time. The accommodations in tea houses were good and comfortable. Food was excellent. We did ABC with Adventures Trek Nepal in 2019. With this second trek trip to Gokyo we feel very comfortable to continue our trek trips in Nepal with Adventures Treks Nepal and rate them 5 Star!!

Comments: "Overall amazing experience"

Amazing trek to Gokyo Ri with friends. The Trails were very beautiful with awesome views of Himalayas, the dense forests, cascading waterfalls. The accommodation arranged was top class with comfortable beds and clean washroom.

Food was excellent !!!!

The guides Ramesh and Dev were very patient with our slow pace and kept good company. The porters Teja and Prashant carried our luggage and were very courteous.

Over all Gyanji, Bhuvan and Anuj took good care of us and arranged for sightseeing and shopping 8n Khatmandu.

Would like to thank the whole team for our wonderful experience and especially for me being trekking for the first time in Nepal.

Would like to go with them next year to Annapurna circuit.
