Sightseeing in Kathmandu ValleyCULTURAL Nepal offers an incomparable scope to connoisseurs of art and culture to see and study the different aspects of fine arts in its painting, sculpture, woodcarving and architecture. The three main historic cities of Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur with numerous historical monuments, old palaces and palace squares, Shrines and temples, ageless traditions and legends make it a veritable living museum.

Kathmandu Valley The history of the Valley begins with the Buddhist saint Manjushree who slashed a passage through the surrounding hills to drain out the primordial waters and make it inhabitable. Over the centuries, a refined urban civilization emerged, built on a unique synthesis of Hinduism and Buddhism. Dynasties came and went. Trade and the arts flourished. Its deeply religious and artistic temples that attracted devout pilgrims as well as rampaging invaders.

The Kathmandu Valley boasts seven World Cultural Heritage Sites all within a radius of 20 km.

Kathmandu Durbar Square
A couple of palaces, temples and traditional art of culture and it is protected as the Heritage Site in the social, religious and urban focal point of the city. It is called as Hanuman Dhoka. The site guarded by God Hanuman, the temple-resident of Kumari (Living Goddes) as Kasthamandap, after which the word Kathmandu is named.

Swayambhunath StupaSwayambhunath
This is regarded as one of the oldest Stupa in the world. Also known as "monkey Temple" It is said to be more then 2000 years old. The stupa perched on a sacred hilltop is crowded with votive stupas, gilded peacocks, Taras, Thunderbolt (Vajra) Mandalas, Tibetan monasteries and a temple of Harati Mata (Goddes of small pox).

Patan
Also known as Lalitpur-city of fine art and architecture, is said to be one of the oldest and beautiful medieval cities of the world. The artist and artesian creates the greatest and most beautiful temples, Shrines and Palaces in the Durbar Square is still a wondrous place.

Pashupatinath
Pashupati Nath TempleOne of the most sacred of all Hindu temples, dedicated to Lord Shiva. it is situated on the Bagmati River, where cremation Ghats are. That place will give you an insight into one of the world's gretest religions. Many peoples from different part of Asia visit Pashupatinath temple, During the festival Shiva Ratri, there is a vast crowed from many parts of Asia as this festival is the biggest festival of worshipping lord Shiva.

Boudhanath
Possibly the world’s largest Stupa. Is a site of a great veneration for Himalayan Buddhism. Being on the old Tibet Nepal trading route and many Tibetans living around the area has developed many monasteries of the different scats of Tibetan Buddhism. Walking around the Stupa will give you a little glimse of Tibet.

Bhaktpur Durbar SquareBhaktapur
The city Bhaktapur known as Bhadgaon "City of devotees" is 13 km east of Kathmandu. This is most beautiful medieval town is the most preserved of the three medieval cities. exquisitely carved 55 windows palace. The Golden Gate an old palace, 5-stored Nyatapole temple and Bhairav Temple near by and Dattatreya square etc. can be observed.

Changunarayan
The temple built on a hilltop some 18 km east of Kathmandu dates back to the 4th century, is the oldest temple in Kathmandu Valley. In the courtyard among half a dozen Vishnu statues, a 5th century image with 10 arms is the masterpiece. There is also an image of Garuda, the mythical bird that serves as Vishnu's heavenly vehicle. Beside, there is one of the oldest and most important inscriptions of the valley.

Numerous Hotels can be found in Nagarkot.

Dhulikhel
Dhulikhel and city Sighseeing in Nepal30 Km east of Kathmandu Valley. The way to Tibet and is one of the scenic spots of valley. Mt. Langtang to Mt. Everest are to be viewed from Dhulikhel. It has some interesting temples and old houses in the city. Namabuddha a pilgrimage place of Buddhists can also be visited in a day. There are also resorts and hotels to stay.
