In spite of being home to some of the tallest mountains of the world and well known for its natural beauty and rich cultural history, Nepal does have dark histories that took life of many. With the intention of up lifting the tourism in Rukum and Rolpa Guerrilla trekking trail is being operated. These two districts were the origin of the decade long civil war by the Maoist against the then Royal family to introduce democracy. This civil war took life of more than 17 thousand Nepalese which finally was able to introduce Federal Democratic Nepal. The main objective of Guerilla trail trekking is to introduce its visitor to this terrain that hold various types of flora and fauna along with the information about the history related with the Guerrilla and real stories related with them. Having a difficult geographical terrains with unspoiled culture lifestyle of people living in this region have highly affected after the war living them with ignorance from the leaders whom they once supported. Agriculture and foreign employment were the two main jobs that the people are engaged because of which they shifted their interest in tourism has this region has everything a traveller is looking for. With amazing views of the mountains Guerilla trekking trail is a treasure as it offers unspoiled natural beauty, pure culture with rich political history.
Guerilla trail trekking begins from Beni, approximately 90 km away from the city of lakes, Pokhara. From Beni, we head in the direction of Lamsung via Takam. It will take us two days to reach Lamsung from where we proceed towards Dhorpatan. Located in the Baglung district, it is also the head quarter of Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve. This is the only hunting reserve of Nepal covering an area of 1,325 km sq. This 12 day trek ends at Sulichaur as it passes many villages of Tallo Sera, Thabhang, Jaljala inhabited by many ethnic groups that has a lot of stories related with the Maoist and their stay in this area during the war.
