Kathmandu Lhasa Cultural Tour - 10 Days

Even now Tibetans call the country Po, both, and Chang-thang, although there is a different province called Chang-thang in Tibet. Tibet is the loftiest tableland in the world ranging from 3600 m. & above from the sea-level with snowy mountains with eternal snow & desertic lands. The maior part of the country is mountain, bleak and barren except some valleys. There are many salt-water lakes like Koko Nor and Lob Nor which are the biggest lakes in Tibet. Also there are some fresh water lakes like Manasarovar, Rakchhesh, Tso Mavang and Langak Tso and many most famous & biggest rivers as well.The capital city of Tibet is Lhasa, situated on the right bank of the Kyi Chhu. Lhasa, the forbidden city truly epitomized the ultimate travel destination. Tibet's immense, stark, grand plateau, its warm cheerful people and its unique cheerful Buddhist tradition, imbued with mysticism, appeared to many through the embodiment of the mythical Shangri-La. Travel to early Tibet requires a good deal of courage and luck, and for those hardy, intrepid explorers and adventurers Lhasa, the forbidden city, truly epitomizes the ultimate travel destination. Tibet's remoteness, its hunting magical beauty, continues to captivate the imagination of travelers.

Destination: Kathmandu- Patan-Bhaktapur-Lhasa and Tsetang.
 

Itinerary:

Day 01: Kathmandu [1,338 m]: A representative from Adventure Treks Nepal will be waiting outside the Tribhuwan International Airport according to your time of arrival. Once you land you will be transferred to the Hotel. Overnight stay at Hotel Manang or Similar.

Day 02: Sightseeing Tour in Kathmandu [1,338 m] - (B): After your breakfast at the hotel we will begin our sightseeing tour around the Kathmandu Valley. Firstly, we will drive to Swyamnbhunath Temple, also known as the Monkey Temple. Located at top of the hill this temple holds great values in Hindu and Buddhist culture. After monkey temple we will drive towards Kathmandu Durbar Square, the ancient royal palace of Kathmandu Valley. The Palace is now a museum so we will witness much information regarding the ancient Nepal. In Kathmandu Durbar Square we will also visit the Kumari House who is regarded as the Living goddess. We will then have our Lunch followed by a drive to another Royal Palace named Patan Durbar Square. Patan has a long Buddhist History and the four corners of the city are marked by Stupas erected by the great Buddhist emperor Ashoka around 250 BCE. Overnight stay at Hotel Manang or Similar (Breakfast Included).

Day 03: Sightseeing Tour in Kathmandu [1,338 m] - (B): After Breakfast we will head towards Bhaktapur, the city of arts and crefts. You will see extraordinary wood crafting arts around Bhaktapur. The city is also known as city of Devotees and center of medieval art and architecture which was founded by King Anand Dev in 899 AD. Around Bhaktapur we will visit the Nyatapola temple, the most beautiful temple of Nepal, the 15th century palace of 55 windows, Golden gate and other place of Interest. Then we will head towards the holy Pashupatinath Temple, one of the most scared Hindu shrines in the world. After spending some time at the bank of Holy Bagmati River we will then head towards Bouddhanath Stupa, another Buddhist landmark which is a most to visit when in Kathmandu. Overnight stay at Hotel Manang or Similar (Breakfast Included).

Day 04: In Kathmandu [1,338 m] - (B): Today is a leisure Day. You will have free time to walk around the streets of Thamel or spend quality time with your friends and family. Overnight stay at Hotel Manang or Similar (Breakfast Included).

Day 05: Kathmandu-Lhasa - (B): Fly with China South West airlines (Depart KTM at 0950 hours). Arrive Gongar airport at 1340 hours and drive to Lhasa (96km). Check in hotel and free time for acclimatization. Over night at Hotel.

Day 06: Lhasa - (B): AM visit Potala Palace, PM visit Sera Monastery and Norbulinka. Over night at Hotel.

Day 07: Lhasa - (B): AM visit Drepung Monastery, PM visit Jorkhang Temple & Barkhor street Over night at Hotel.

Day 08: Lhasa-Tsetang - (B): Morning drive to Tsetang and visit Samye Monastery en route, afternoon visit Yumbulakhang Palace & Trandduk Monastery in Tsetang, Over night at Hotel.

Day 09: Lhasa-Kathmandu - (B): Early morning transfer to Gonggar airport and fly to Kathmandu.Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 10: Departure- (B):Trip ends ! fly back home, taking with you the memory of a life time.
