"Ganesh" Named after the god of good fortune in Hindu religion, Ganesh Himal region is one of the less explored trekking trails where you can have wonderful trekking experience in the Nepal’s Himalayas. Ganesh was the younger son of Lord Shiva whose head was chopped off by his own father unaware about him being his own son. Later the head was replaced by Elephants head and Ganesh was worshipped as a God. During your time in Ganesh Himal we will be surrounded by exotic flora and fauna including barberries, Premolars, Orchids and many varieties of ferns that provides us with the good smell to the extraordinary views. We will also be able to have the experience of Tamang culture as this region is home to many Tamang people who are still away from the city life and do practice their daily activities that have been practiced by their ancestors. Packed with high mountains, terraced fields, deep gorges, hot water stream with blooming Rhododendron forests, Ganesh Himal is a paradise for explorers.
Ganesh Himal towering along with Langtang and other peaks can be seen from Kathmandu as well which lies in the middle of Manaslu Himalayan Range and Budi Gandaki valley in the west. The starting point for Ganesh HImal Trek is from Syabrubesi which is 122 km away from Kathmandu. The trail then heads in the direction of Gatlang from where we commence towards Somdang. Crossing the Pangsang Pass (3,271 meters) we trek up to Ganesh Himal Base Camp where we spend two nights to soak in the magnificent views of the white giants. We then hike back on the same trail up to Hindung from where we say goodbye to the trail we used before and set on a new trail that passes through Chalise, Darkha and finally to Khahare Kharka from where we drive back to Kathmandu for any other destinations as you preferences.
