Ganja la pass Trekking (Langtang Region)

Ganja la pass TrekkingGanja la pass is one of the difficult Himalayan pass with a high of 5132 m. In this trek trekkers can enjoy Buddhist culture and tradition. Beautiful Himalayan sight seeing as well as beautiful Buddhist monastery can be seen on the way.

A visit to the Langtang Valley offers an opportunity to explore villages, climb small peaks and visit glaciers at a comfortably low elevation. The forest in this region have temperate and sub- alpine vegetation. Wildlife includes migratory birds, deer, monkeys, Thar, and Pika. The scenery here is spectacular and the trek is more adventurous.

The route from Kyanjin Gompa in Langtang to Tarke Gyang in Helambu crossing 5106m begins Ganja La Pass trekking. Crossing the Langtang Khola below KyanjinGompa, the trail makes a steep climb along the ridge on the south side of the valley through a forest of rhododendron and juniper. Ganja La trail continues south, following streams and moraines and climbing steeply towards the pass. The views to the north from the pass, of Langtang Lirung and the snow peaks in Tibet, including Shisha Pangma at 8013m, are outstanding. On the clear day you can see the views of many ranges to the south. West of the pass is 5846m Naya Kangri named as Ganja La Chuli. It is one of the trekking peaks and you can climb with a permit from the Nepal Mountaineering Association.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival Transfer to the Hotel.
Day 02: Half day City Tours/ Afternoon Free.
Day 03 : Drive from Kathmandu to Dhuche (9hrs) and overnight.
Day 04 : Dhuche trek to Syabru (5 hrs) and overnight.
Day 05 : Syabru trek to Lama hotel (6 hrs) and overnight.
Day 06 : Lama hotel trek to Langtang (6 hrs) and overnight.
Day 07 : Langtang trek to Kyangin Gomba.(4 hrs) and sovernight.
Day 08 : Kyangin – Rest day, overnight.
Day 09 : Kyangin - Trek to Gangala High Camp (6 hrs) and overnight.
Day 10 : Gangala  - Trek to Phedi Via Gangala Pass (7 hrs) – overnight.
Day 11 : Trek to Bhedi Kharka from Phedi (7 hrs) overnight.
Day 12 : Trek to Tarkeghyang form Bhedi Kharka (7 hrs) overnight.
Day 13 : Rest Day
Day 14 : Tarkeghyang trek to Sermanthang (4 hrs) and overnight.
Day 15 : Sermanthang trek to Melamchi Bazzar (5 hrs) and overnight.
Day 16 : Melamchi Bazzar drive back to Kathmandu (5 hrs), overnight.
Day 17: In Kathmandu Free Day.
Day 18: Trip ends ! fly back home, taking with you the memory of a life time.
