Detail itinerary:
Day 01: Arrival to Kathmandu (1,330m): Once you arrive at the Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu you will be transferred to the hotel by a representative of Adventure Treks Nepal who will be waiting for your arrival outside the airport. Depending on time of arrival a briefing session will be conducted once you have freshened up. Please let us know if there is anything you would like to do while you are in Nepal. Overnight stay at Hotel Yak and Yeti or Similar.
Day 02: Cultural Tour in Kathmandu (1,330m) - (B): You will have breakfast in the Hotel. After breakfast we will drive to various UNESCO listed world heritage sites of Nepal which are situated inside the Kathmandu Valley. Swyambhunath is the initial heritage site that we will be visiting, a famous and important stupa for Buddhists is situated at the top of a hill in Kathmandu Valley. The temple is also known as Monkey Temple due to hundreads of monkeys living around the temple area. We then head to the ancient palace of Kathmandu, Kathmandu Durbar Square which consists many historical temples such as temple of the living Goddess Kumari, the Jagannath temple, and the Kasthamandap, a famous three storey building which was built from a wood of a single tree. Later today we will visit the most scared Hindu shrine of the world, Pashupatinath followed by the visit to Bouddha stupa one of the biggest stupa in Nepal. Day 03: Flight to Lukla (2,652m), Trek to Phakding: Early in the morning we will will head to the domestic airport and fly to Lukla. We will meet our supporting crew in Lukla. After everything is ready we will star trekking downhill to Dudh Koshi River, a furious river that flows from the glacier of the highest mountains. The gradual ascend around the potatoes fields and wheat will takes us to Phakding where we will be spending the night. Average trekking time is 3 hours. Overnight Stay at Hotel Sherpa or Similar, Normal Room with attached Bathroom. Breakfast, lunch and included.
Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m): After breakfast we continue to trek entering into the dense Rhododendron and Pine forests while we cross the thundering Dudh Koshi River again. We are now inside the Sagarmatha National Park properly. While we trek to Namchhe Bazzar you will see many yaks transporting the goods to be traded along the trail. Spectacular Mountain peaks like Nupla (5,885m), Kongde Ri (6,093 m) and Thamserku (6,808m) rise majestically above us throughout most of the day. Average trekking time is 5 to 6 hours. Overnight Stay at Hotel Camp de Base or Similar, Normal Room with attached Bathroom. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Day 05: Acclimatization day, day hike to Shyangboche (3,833m): This is a rest day in Namchhe Bazzar for acclimatization. Since the air pressure is decreasing and the air is thinning it is important for us to spend some time in Namchhe Bazzar to adjust our body with the changing climatic condition. This will decrease the possible chances of Altitude sicknesses. You can hike upto the Everest View Hotel in Shyangboche for breathetakling mountain views of Mount Everest and Ama Dablam. Average trekking time is 2 hours. Overnight Stay at Hotel Camp de Base or Similar, Normal Room with attached Bathroom. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Day 06: Trek to (Deboche) (3,720 m) via Thyangboche (3,780m): We start our trek to Thyangboche (3,780 m) (Deboche) (3,720 m) early in the morning after breakfast following a trail around the ridges for some spectacular views of Ama Dablam. Everest can be clearly seen on the horizon before we descend through splendid rhododendron forests for lunch. After lunch, we cross Dudh Koshi River once again and begin a long winding ascent that takes us to the famous Buddhist monastery of Thyangboche – built in 1912 and considered the spiritual and cultural center of these highlands. The monastery has been recently re-built with the assistance of Sir Edmund Hillary after it was destroyed by fire in 1989. As this area is a devout Buddhist region, the wildlife is unharmed so there is always a possibility that we may see some wild animals such as musk deer, mountain goat, and pheasants in the forest. Day 07: Trek to Dingboche (4,365m): After your breakfast we begin our trek with a uphill climb to the Imja Khola before we reach the beautiful Sherpa settlement in Pangboche (3,901m). You will meet many sherpas who have successfully conquered the Everest in this village. We may take a slight detour to visit an old monastery where Lama Geishi gives his blessings to those attempting to stand on Sagarmatha’s highest point. After the visit to the monastery we continue trekking to Dingboche for overnight stay. Average trekking time is 4 to 5 hours. Day 08: Acclimatization day, day hike to Chhukung: This is another free day in Dingboche for acclimatization before we go above the tree line. We will hike upto Chhukung village for a short tour and return back to Dingboche. You can spend the rest of the day relaxing and observing the magnificent Everest Region. Average trekking time is 4 to 5 hours. Overnight Stay at Dingboche Resort, Bright star or Simliar, Normal Room with attached Toilet. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Day 09: Trek to Lobuche at (4,955m): After breakfast we will continue our Everest Base Camp journey to Gorakshep. On our way we will be walking on dry sloppy landscape above the tree line from where we will witness the peaks such as Cholatse, Lobuche and Pumori. Many Rock Cairns can be seen at Dugla Ridge dedicated to the departed souls of climbers who died attempting the Everest. We now follow Khumbu Glacier and reach Lobuche for overnight stay. We will feel the drop in temperature over here as we become more elevated and exposed to the upper slopes of the valley. Average trekking time is 4 to 5 hours. Day 10: Trek to Gorak Shep (5,395m): From Lobuche we trek above the rocky moraine of the Khumbu glacier and head in the direction of Gorak Shep. After our lunch at Gorakshep we head to the main destination of our trek, the notorious Everest Base Camp (5,340m). After spending some time in Everest Base Camp observing the beauty of the nature we then descend back to Gorak Shep for overnight stay. This picturesque village is surrounded by beautiful mountains including Pumori (7,145m), Lingtren (6,697m), Nuptse (7,745m) and of course Everest (8,850m). Average trekking time is 7 to 8 hours. Day 11: Climb Kalapattar, Trek to Pheriche (4,252m): On this day we will be heading to Kala Pattar (5,545m), famous view point for Everest and other mountains and peaks of Everest Region. It will take 2 to 3 hours to reach upto Kala Pattar which treats you with worlds best mountain view once you reach at the top of the hill.After spending some time here we then descend to Pheriche for overnight stay. Average trekking time is 7 to 8 hours. Overnight Stay at Hotel Himalaya or Simliar, Normal Room with attached Toilet. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Day 12: Trek to Phortse (3,867m): Now, there can be a tendency to rush, particularly as we are walking downhill, but there is still much to see as we descend to Pangboche and visit its historical, thought to be the oldest in the Khumbu, Pangboche monastery. As we leave the old Pangbuche monastery, we head to Phortse watching Thangboche monastery and Ama Dablam on the opposite side. Average trekking time is 5-6 hours. Overnight Stay at Hotel Thamserku View or Similar, Normal Room without attached Bathroom. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Day 13: Trek to Khumjung (3,780 m): It is a comfortable day walk, with plenty of time to explore these unique and more traditional villages until we reach the " City in the clouds ", Khumjung where Sir Edmund Hillary built " School house in the clouds" and famous Khude hospital. On the way, as we pass through terraced fields we may see a brightly coloured pheasent, the Imphieant Pheasant, the national bird of Nepal. We will also be able to visit the Khumjung monastry where we may have an opportunity to see the famous "Scalp of Yeti". Average trekking time is 4-5 hours. Day 14: Trek to Phakding (2,652) Though, we are returning back, there are still more things to see on the way like Everest View Hotel nearby on a hill top with views of the mountains including Everest, where you can stop for refreshment before passing through the yak breeding farm and descending to Namche Bazaar. After leaving the heart of Sherpa people's city Namche, we continue to descend through the rhododendron forest to the valley floor to follow the Dudh Koshi downhill and then out of the national park to Phakding where we spend our night. Average trekking time is 04-05 hours. Overnight Stay at Hotel Sherpa or Similar, Normal Room with attached Bathroom. Breakfast, lunch and included.
Day 15: Trek to Lukla (2,652m): We retrace our steps along the river Dudh Koshi. It is a beautiful and easy walk through pine and rhododendron forest with a view of Kusum Kanguru and other splendid mountains behind us before a gradual climb out of the river valley to the trek starting point Lukla to savor our final mountain sunset of the trek as we complete this exhilarating journey. Average trekking time is 3 to 4 hours. Overnight Stay at Hotel Khumbu Resort or Similar, Normal Room with attached Bathroom. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Day 16: Fly Back to Kathmandu: Early in the morning we say goodbye to our supporting crew members and take a thrilling 45 min flight to Kathmandu from Lukla. Upon your arrival in Kathmandu you willl be transferred to the Hotel. This day also acts as a buffer day in case of flight cancellation to or from Lukla due to weather condition. Overnight stay at Hotel Yak and Yeti or Similar Breakfast and Dinner included.
Day 17: Free day in Kathmandu (1,330m): On this day you will have time to do anything in Kathmandu Valley. There are many tourists’ attractions around Kathmandu like Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square which you can visit. You can walk around streets of Thamel for last minute shopping and to have good food. We are happy to offer you some recommendations. Overnight stay at Hotel Yak and Yeti or Similar Breakfast included.
Day 18: Fly back home: You will be dropped to the Tribhuwan International airport by a representative from Adventure Treks Nepal according to your flight time. Fly back home with memories that last lifetime. Breakfast included.
