The Unique Royal Journey is another custom made trip by Adventure Treks Nepal which includes different areas of Nepal and Bhutan. From exploring the Cultural World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu which reflect the ancient tradition of Nepal along with marvelous displays of wood crafting and architecture. This trip also covers another popular destination, the Annapurnas. The 4 day trek in Ghorepani region is a good trail for beginners and for people who want to get up close to the gigantic Himalayas. During the trek you will be able to have a glimpse of some of the 8,000.Meters like Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I. As we observe one of the best sunrises above the mountains from Poon Hill we head towards Tatopani to take a dip in a natural hot spring before beginning our Jeep Safari in the direction of Muktinath, further north towards Tibet Border. The change in landscape from green lush forest to dry rocky terrain and huge mountains will make you speechless.

The second part of Unique Royal Journey takes you to Bhutan, another beautiful Kingdom in South Asia. Upon your Arrival our Bhutan Representative will welcome you and brief you about your trip in Bhutan. The Tiger's Nest and Taktsang Palphug Monastery are additional names for Paro Taktsang, a revered Vajrayana Himalayan Buddhist monument in Bhutan's upper Paro valley. One of the thirteen Tiger's Nest caves in ancient Tibet where Padmasambhava taught and practiced Vajrayana.

Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu [1,330m]: Upon your arrival, a representative from Adventure Treks Nepal will be waiting outside the airport gates to take you to the hotel. Depending on time of arrival, plans will be made for a briefing meeting once you have settled in. Please let us know if there is anything special you would like to do while in Kathmandu and we can help you arrange that. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 02: Cultural Tour in Kathmandu [1,330 m] - (B): After Breakfast we Proceed for sightseeing tour of Bhaktapur city 15 km from Kathmandu, known as city of Devotees and center of medieval art and architecture founded by King Anand Dev in 889 AD, visit Nyatpola temple, the most beautiful temple of Nepal, the 15th century palace of 55 windows, Golden gate and other place of Interest. Lunch Time: 1300hrs-14:00hrs PM: Visit Pashupatinath temple, one of the most sacred Hindu shrines in the World. The holy river Bagmati and the burning ghats and also visit one of the oldest and biggest stupa of Boudhanath. Overnight stay at Hotel. (Breakfast Included).

Day 03: Full day sightseeing including [1,330 m] - (B): After Breakfast: Sightseeing including: AM: Visit 2000 years old Buddhist shrine Swyambhunath, situated on the top of the hill west of the city the most popular and instantly recognizable symbols of Nepal. The temple is colloquially known as the “Monkey Temple''. There are many small buildings and shrines down the hillside behind Swayambhunath. Explore the colorful Kathmandu Durbar Square - The Old Royal Palace of Kathmandu, Temple of living goddess Kumari, the Jagannath temple, 17th century temple known for colorfully painted erotic carvings, Kasthmandap temple a three story temple built from a single tree in 12th century. Lunch Time: 1300hrs - 14:00hrs PM: Patan is often referred to as Lalitpur, which means “city of beauty”. Patan has a long Buddhist History and the four corners of the city are marked by Stupas erected by the great Buddhist emperor Ashoka around 250 BCE.Visit Patan City second largest city of valley including Royal Palace, Bhimsen temple, Manga Hiti, King Yogaendra Malla’s Statue, Krishna temple, Taleju temple, 15th century Golden Temple and Mahaboudha Temple known as temple of 10,000 Buddha, Kumbeshwar Temple. Bishwakarma Temple, Uma Maheshwar Temple. Overnight stay at Hotel. (Breakfast Included).

Day 04: Fly to Pokhara [970 m] - (B): After breakfast in the Hotel we transfer to the domestic airport then we take flight to Pokhara (about 25 M), the beautiful lake city and catch great views of the Himalayas from the right side of our airplane. After landing in the Pokhara airport we drive to the Hotel, Afternoon: We have a half day sightseeing tour of Bindhyabasini Temple known for its fabulous view of the city and mountain ranges. Catch a glimpse of the unique waterfall, Davis fall (Tibetan Camp at Chorepatan), home to the legend of the Devi’s fall (to add a little mystery to your adventure, be sure to ask about the legend when your there). You then head to the illustrious Gorkha Museum that represents the mountains, people, and the area’s environment. Overnight stay at Hotel. (Breakfast Included).

Day 05: Drive to Nayapul, trek to Ulleri [2,020 m] - (B,L,D): After your breakfast at the hotel in Pokhara we begin our drive to Nayapul which is approximately 40 k.m. from Pokhara. The drive will take around 1 hour 30 min after which we will begin our trek. The first part of the trail takes us to Birethati where we will check in our ACAP permit and TIMS. We then cross the river at Birethati and head left along the gentle slope to Tikhedhunga where we cross the BhurungdiKhola River on two suspension bridges. After crossing the river we will start the steep climb to Ulleri where we will be spending the night. (Car+Trek). (Drive 01-01:30 Hours). Trek (05-06 Hrs). Overnight stay at Tea House. Day 06: Trek to Ghorepani [2,810 m] - (B,L,D): After breakfast we continue our trek towards Ghorepani through the settlements of Banthati and Nangethati. We also pass a spring inside the forest after Banthati. Crossing the spring by a bridge we continue towards our destination. Occasional views of the peaks give way to a narrower valley, passing through Rhododendron forest then eventually reaching the village of Ghorepani where we spend a night. Trek (03-04 Hrs). Overnight stay at Tea House. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included).

Day 07: Sunrise trip to Poonhill [3,210 m], Trek to Shikha [1,970 m] - (B,L,D): During the night, your guide will check for clear weather to make the one-hour climb up to the Poonhill viewpoint at 3,210m. It’s usually misty when you start off and arrive, then at sunrise the clouds part to reveal one of the most majestic sunrises in the world; Machapuchhre, Annapurna South, Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri Mountain are all viewable from here.

We then head back to Ghorepani for breakfast before trekking down to Shikha. Overnight stay at Tea House. Trek (05-06 Hrs). (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included).

Day 08: Trek to Tatopani (Natural Hot Spring) [1,100 m] - (B,L,D): After breakfast at Shikha we start our trekking towards Tatopani. The trail heads down all the way to Ghara, a small village. Crossing the Durbin Danda (the hill of the best view) steeply down to reach Kaligandaki river bank. It is called Ghar Khola, the main trail or road you can see, and you can follow the road all the way to Tatopani. The treks follow the seasonal road to Tatopani 35 minutes from Ghar Khola. Check your hotel then visit the natural hot spring which is five minutes from your Hotel. Take a natural hot bath in a natural hot spring. Overnight stay at Tea House. Trek (03-04 Hrs). (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included).

Day 09: Drive to Kagbeni [2810 m] - (B,L,D): After a beautiful sunrise with glorious views of the Himalayas we will take a jeep towards Kagbeni. The road today goes along the Kali Gandaki River via the beautiful villages of Ghasa, Kalopani, Tukuche, Marpha, Jomsom. Most of these villages are inhabited by Thakali people who are regarded as one of the major ethnic groups of this region. On our way to Kagbeni we will stop on Marpha to visit the old village and a monastery of this area. After spending some time in Marpha we will continue to Kagbeni. (Drive 05-06 hrs). Overnight stay at Tea House. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included).

Day 10: Jeep drive to Jomsom via Muktinath [3,802 m]. (Drive 02-03 hrs). (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included).

Day 11: Fly To Pokhara. [930 m] (B): After early breakfast at your Tea House in Jomsom. We fly to Pokhara. It is an exciting 22 Minute exciting flight. Upon your arrival in Pokhara Airport we transfer you to the Hotel. Rest of the day is Leisure. Overnight stay at Hotel. (Breakfast Included).

Day 12: In Pokhara. [930 m] (B): Free and Leisure day. Overnight stay at Hotel. (Breakfast Included).

Day 13: Fly to Kathmandu [1,330 m] - (B): After breakfast in Pokhara, we have a mountain flight to Kathmandu; it is a thrilling, exciting flight over forests, fields and villages with the Himalayas in the background. On arrival, we transfer to the hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure. (22-25 m flight). Overnight stay at Hotel or Similar.

Day 14: Kathmandu Paro drive to Thimpu [2,334m] - (B,L,D): The flight from Kathmandu to Paro is one of the most spectacular mountain flights in the world. Upon your arrival, a Our representative will meet you at the airport and transfer to Thimphu, the modern capital town of Bhutan. Overnight at the hotel. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included).

Day 15: Thimphu - Paro [2,200 m] - (B,L,D): After breakfast, sightseeing of Thimphu valley includes, visit to the National Library, a treasure trove of priceless Buddhist manuscripts. The Traditional Medicine Institute, where centuries old healing arts such as acupuncture and herbal remedies are still practised. The Painting School, where young monks learn the art of Buddhist thangkha. Also visit mask maker workshop and workshop for fine metalcraft, weaving, ceramics and paper making. Then visit, Textile and Folk Heritage Museum, a fascinating testimony of Bhutanese material culture and living traditions.

Afternoon, visit to Tashichhodzong, 'fortress of the glorious dharma'. It is the centre of government and religion, site of the King's throne room, National assembly hall, and seat of Je Khenpo or Chief Abbot. Built in 1641 by the political and religious unifier of Bhutan, Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, it was reconstructed in 1961 in traditional Bhutanese manner, without nails or architectural plans.

Also visit King's Memorial Chorten continuously circumbulated by His Majesty's subjects, spinning prayer wheels and murmuring mantras.

Then, visit Handicrafts Emporium and local shops if you like to browse through examples of Bhutan's fine traditional arts. Here you can buy textiles, thangkha paintings, masks, ceramics, slate and wood carvings, jewelers, interesting items made from local materials, and all manner of unique objects. Afternoon drive to Paro. Overnight at the hotel. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included).

Day 16: Sightseeing in Paro [2,200 m] - (B,L,D): Morning take an excursion to Taktsang Monastery, also known as Tiger’s Nest [2,995 m]. It is believed that Guru Rinpoche, the father of the Bhutanese strain of Mahayana Buddhism, arrived here on the back of a tigress and meditated at this monastery. Taktsang was severely damaged by fire in 1998 and now has been restored to its original grandeur. After lunch, visit Ta Dzong, the National Museum. The museum collection includes ancient Bhutanese art and artifacts, weapons and the country's exquisite postage stamps. Then walk down the trail to visit Rinpung Dzong situated at commanding height, overlooking Paro valley. This Dzong is symbolic as the religious and secular centre of all affairs of the valley. Evening visit a traditional farm house to get an idea on the lifestyle of local people. Overnight at the hotel. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included).

Day 17: Fly to Kathmandu [1,330 m] - (B): Early in the morning we fly to Kathmandu. Pick up and transfer to the Hotel. Overnight stay at Hotel or Similar. (Breakfast Included).

Day 18: Departure: Breakfast at Hotel. Today you will be transferred to the airport to fly back home, taking with you the memory of a lifetime. (Breakfast Included).

If you are thinking about how to obtain Nepal visa, then the easiest way to obtain it is at the Tribhuwan International Airport upon your arrival in Nepal or else at the immigration entry point if you are entering through the border of India or Tibet.

Note: There are few countries namely Nigeria, Ghana, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe, Somalia, Cameroon, Swaziland, Iraq, Ethiopia, Liberia, Palestine, etc. People from these countries do not get visa from the immigration entry points of Nepal.)

What do you need to obtain Nepal visa?

If you are thinking of taking visa at the airport or immigration entry point, following are your requirements:

* A valid passport (The passport should have validity of at least six months)
* You should fill the application form for visa available at airport or immigration entry points.
* Two passport size photos
* Visa fees which should be paid in cash.

* Eastern Nepal - Kakarvitta, Jhapa.
* Central Nepal - Birjung, Parsa.

Visa Fees

* USD 30 or equivalent convertible currency for 15 days.
* USD 50 or equivalent convertible currency for 30 days.
* USD 125 or equivalent convertible currency for 90 days.
* For the tourist of SAARC nationals, free visa up to 30 days.
* Visa is not required for Indian nationals. However, if they enter Nepal via air, they will have to show a valid identification certificate (passport/ citizenship certificate). The children under the age of 10 do not need to show identification certificate.

Visa Extension

* Tourist visa extension is done for minimum 15 days with USD 45 and USD 3 per day for additional days.
* In the case of delay less than 150 days additional USD 5 per day as late fine.

Transit Visa

When a foreigner has to get down at Nepalese airport as a result of his/her transit point or due to any force landing for whatever the reason, the foreigner can obtain transit visa for a day after paying USD 5 or any other currency equivalent.

Other General Information

* Entering in to Nepal or staying in Nepal without a valid visa is illegal.
* Tourist visa can be obtained either through the Nepalese embassy or consulate or other mission offices in your nation or at the immigration entry points in Nepal listed above.
* Visa once issued cannot be amended and the visa fees are non-refundable.
* You should pay the Nepal visa fees in cash. Credit card or cheque are not acceptable.
* Visa charges are not applicable for children under 10 years of age, however, they must obtain a valid visa.
* If you are obtaining a new passport or travel document, you are advised to contact the Immigration Department for the document transfer.
* Always carry your passport and trekking permit while on trekking.
* Some of the areas are restricted for filming. Therefore, be careful not to do the activities that are strictly prohibited.
* The culture, tradition and sentiments of Nepalese people should be respected.
* Do not perform any activities that would hurt their sentiments.
